50 Year Old Jerusalem Man Arrested for Sexual Assault on Erev Rosh Hashanash

A 50-year-old Jerusalem man has been arrested for assaulting a teenage boy he had met at his Beit Knesset. The arrest was made after the boy told his parents about the ongoing assault, and they reported it to the police. The suspect had allegedly arranged meetings with the boy in various locations, where he would perform indecent acts in exchange for payment.

On Saturday night, the 8th of September, the night before Rosh Hashanah, the man arrived at Shul for Slichot prayers. The boy’s family, already at the venue, alerted police to the suspect’s presence, at which point they arrived to make the arrest. The suspect was taken into custody for further investigation and was arraigned in court on Sunday.

The police noted that this is the third allegation to be brought forward to them in the past two months of adult abusers using Shuls to find minors who then become victims. The police requested that parents be aware of their children’s whereabouts at all times, particularly in crowded and public areas, as well as to immediately report any suspicious activities.
