David Shapiro Arrested On Embezzlement Related Charges

Several months ago, Jewish Community Watch (JCW), an organization which combats child sexual abuse, noticed several internal financial irregularities. JCW immediately brought this to the attention of the North Miami Beach Police Department and fully cooperated with their investigation. That investigation culminated today with the arrest of Mr. Shapiro on charges of grand theft, identify theft and an organized scheme to defraud.

Thankfully, Shapiro’s role was only administrative and he was not involved directly with our clients, most of whom are survivors of abuse. For that reason, none of the work accomplished by JCW was compromised.

In addition to cooperating with the criminal prosecution, JCW has filed a civil suit to recover the stolen monies. Thanks to generous assistance received by JCW it still has the ability to meet its financial commitments going forward.

We would like to thank the North Miami Beach Police Department for handling this matter.

We would also like to thank all of our supporters who have been there for us in the past and will be with us in the future as we continue to protect children from child sexual abuse.

Sincerely

Board of Directors
