He Was a Serial Abuser in Brooklyn in the 80s and 90s

Over the past few months, JCW received a number of reports from victims who were abused by an individual in the Crown Heights community during the 1980’s and 1990’s. During that time, he befriended many children at a local minyan hosted in a school, as well as many other neighborhood children, and groomed and molested some of them. The allegations received by JCW include accusations of sexual molestation and assault, showing children pornography, and rape.
Through the course of our investigation, we found that the alleged abuser had left the country many years ago in the mid-1990’s when the allegations became known and settled in Israel. Some years ago he suffered a stroke and is now entirely physically incapacitated, living in a nursing home in central Israel.
This case represents a moral dilemma to JCW; after discussing this with the survivors, we will not be exposing the alleged abuser’s name. However, we believe that all of the victims of this man deserve closure and validation, and the knowledge that they are not alone. Therefore we have chosen to share this information in the hopes that those who were hurt by him will read this, and have some measure of support and acknowledgment of the abuse they suffered.
