In 2006 Daniel Gersh was arrested for child molestation when a 9 year old boy who Gersh coached told his parents that Gersh had touched him. When police searched his home, they found over 55,000 explicit images involving children and over 3,000 videos.
In 2007 Gersh pled guilty to 60 offences of child abuse and 48 charges of creating, owning, and distributing child pornography. Gersh had served as a sports coach in several London youth groups including the JCC, and had previously spent time working as a counselor in a New York Jewish summer camp. Gersh was ordered to register as a lifelong sex offender.
