In 2004 Stavish was arrested in Israel and charged with numerous counts of sexual molestation, abuse, indecent sexual acts, sodomy and attempted sodomy of seven minors, including two handicapped teens. In 2005 Stavish pled guilty in a Jerusalem district court to 11 charges of sexual abuse and was sentenced to 12 years in prison.
