In 1999, Abadi was indicted in the Tel Aviv District court on charges of sodomy, indecent acts by force, and assault of three minors ages 9-10. Abadi was described as using public venues such as mikvas and a shul to molest his victims. Abadi was convicted and sentenced to 12 years incarceration. He was later rearrested on unrelated charges and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
